Phi Phi Islands

Reputation as one of the most beautiful tropical islands in the world, Phi Phi Islands have become one of the most popular tourist attractions in Thailand. Location and surroundings
This coastal province on the Andaman coast 814 km south of Bangkok, limited in an area of 4709 square km Phang-Nga and Surat Thani in the north, Trang and the Andaman Sea in the south, Trang and Nakhon Si Thammarat to the east, Phang Nga and the Andaman Sea in the west .
Climate
For the influence of the tropical monsoon, there are only two seasons in this province, the hot season from January to April and the rainy season from May to December. The temperatures are between 17 ? C and 37 ? C

Geography

How to get there

Getting to Krabi
Bangkok
By car: From Bangkok, take Highway No. 4 to Chumphon and then onto Highway No. 41 to change the province of Surat Thani crosses. Then Highway No. 4035, go to the Luek District No. 4 and turn again. The total distance is 814 km.

By train: Trains in Krabi. But you can make a train from Bangkok to Trang or Nakhon Si Thammarat take Hualamphong and take a bus or taxi to Krabi.
For Trang, an express train leaves daily at 17.05 and arriving in Bangkok Trang clock clock runs 09.40 ET express train daily at 18.20 and arriving at 12.20 clock.
In Nakhon Si Thammarat, a rapid train leaves Bangkok daily at 17.35 and arrives at 10.45 clock clock and an express train leaves daily at 19:15 and arrives at 12:00 clock.

History

According to archaeological data, the region today as the province of Krabi is a community of history, but there is no documentary evidence on this issue.
During the reign of King Rama V (1868-1910), this country called Pakasai Sub-region was under the direct jurisdiction of Nakhon Si Thammarat. After the governor of the province, sent his servants to catch the elephant wandered here many more people in the province of Nakhon Si Thammarat in the region to settle.
In 1872 King Rama V elevated Pakasai subregion Krabi Province with the provincial administration office situated at Krabi-Yai Sub-region (in the Muang district of today). But it was still under the control of Nakhon Si Thammarat. Currently, the office near the mouth of the Pak Nam Sub-district is situated. The first governor was with Thep Sena Living. In 1875, Rama V, Nakhon Si Thammarat and Krabi Bangkok has separately decided.
There are two stories in which the meaning of "Krabi". The first settlers had a big sword old (Krabi Thai) have met with the governor. He does the same if a smaller was found later. Regarded as sacred and happy after the governor of the province. But the founding of the province is still maintained by the board referred to in the cave Khanap Nam Khao. This was the origin of the symbol province.

In the full moon day of lunar month, 06.11 clock (about May to October)
This festival is a rare and ancient tradition of the sea gypsies on Ko Lanta. In the full moon day of lunar month, 6 and 11 sea gypsies will gather on the beach of Ban Saladan floating vessels at sea to float sorrow and happiness. During the ceremony, a typical dance of the South Ngenge Rong and music will take on the boat.
Opening of the Andaman Sea (Krabi Boek Fa Andaman)

This festival is presented annually at the official opening of the season in the province instead. It features parades, cultural performances and events.
